A few tips on maintaining good nutrition:

  • Eat 5-7 servings of fruit and vegetables per day

  • Females should eat 4-5 servings of wholegrain cereals/breads/potatoes/rice/pasta per day

  • Males should eat 4-5 servings of wholegrain cereals/breads/potatoes/rice/pasta per day

  • Try to eat fruit/vegetables/nuts/seeds/wholegrain starchy foods as a source of fibre (25-30g/day)

  • Try to have 3-4 servings of milk/yoghurt/cheese per day as a source of calcium

  • Try to have 2 servings of lean meat/poultry/fish/eggs/beans/nuts per day as a source of protein and iron

  • Limit the high calorie food and drinks (chocolate/biscuits/crispe/fizzy drinks/cakes/sweets)

  • Limit things like fats, spreads, and oils.

  • Use grilling/oven baking/steaming/boiling/stir frys
