Back To Work Supports - Community Employment

The Community Employment (CE) scheme can help you get back to work if you are long-term unemployed. It provides part-time and temporary paid work placements within local communities.

It is supported by DSP grant. Participants work 19.5 hours per week/ 39 hours per fortnight for organizations in the local non-profit voluntary sector, community groups or local authority. CE income is subject to Tax and PRSI. There is a Training Grant of E250 (with possibility of progression to E1000).

CE contracts are only issued for a period of one year or less. However, if you are in the process of completing a major award at Level 5-10 then your contract can be extended to a maximum of 3 years
