Ask For Help
We’re all guilty to some degree of procrastinating – putting off dealing with a problem, ‘kicking the can down the road’. But in the long run, this does no good. Its better to face the issue, accept it and look for support. More often than not, there is support out there. Sometimes the first option for support doesn’t work for us but if we persist, we will find the help that we need.
There are a number of independent organisations that can assist with Money Matters and Welfare Rights. These include:
· Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS)
· Irish National Organisation for the Unemployed (INOU)
· Society of Saint Vincent De Paul

Our mission
Face The Challenge and Accept It
Unfortunately, in the real world, problems don’t solve themselves and often solutions don’t solve everything. But if we can make things a bit better for ourselves, that’s a start. All the advice regarding money issues centres on:
· Identifying that there is a problem
· Defining the problem
· Measuring the problem
If we can make a start at that, we are on the right track for a better future. The next stage is to ask for help.
Finding Support
At very worst, our programme can walk with you on your journey. At worst, we can help to:
define and quantify the problem/issue
suggest initial steps to take
show you options for more detailed and specialist support
Also, as this is a money management programme, we can help you to:
maximise your income (maybe there are additional benefits that you might be entitled to or there are ways to increase your income
minimise your spending (by helping you do create a budget for yourself
Supports
Supports come in many different forms:
· we can walk with you in your journey to improving your finances – let you see that you are not alone and we are here to help
· we can provide some practical help with things like
budgeting support
money saving ideas
· we can put you in touch with people who can provide appropriate specialist support
· we can put you in touch with people who can provide practical supports to support your immediate needs
Stay In Touch Because There Are Lots Of Local Initiatives
Every week, we find out about a wide range of supports that would help improve a participant’s financial circumstances. A lot of these initiatives are localised to certain areas or groups of people.
